Why is communication often so bad in companies? First, everyone is so busy. This is the excuse. Second, most communication is one way. So, it is not a dialogue but a monologue. Third, many executives and managers lack the emotional intelligence skills. Finally, fourth, it is not the top priority even though many say it is. As a result, communication is often ambiguous or haphazard.

Rick is on point with this module. The communication tips lead us to understand fully that communicating positively will create a powerful influence on a team. The tips may seem basic to some, but if blended together and not thought of as individual ingredients, one can create a recipe for success!

  3. Patrick Loke

    Agree with the communication tips.
Engaging in a conversation is even more challenging especially during the Covid period whereby face-to-face interactions are kept to a minimum.
Would be good if, some tips on these aspects can be considered. e.g the social media do’s and don’ts when comes into communications.

  4. Dickson Sedzi

The communication tips given are great; the one that resonates with me is “say hello”. As one who grew up in a collectivistic society, it is a sign of disrespect not to greet. Interpersonal relationships are much healthier and cordial.
